hold an introductory speech on the theme of "Historic Achievements
and HDZ's Future Role".
"We hope the session of the Main Committee will spur a new
enthusiasm and greater mobility within the HDZ, and that this will
be an impetus to all officials and organisations of the HDZ to use
the remaining half a year until elections, to invest efforts into
solving the problems of Croatian citizens and maintain the trust
the voters have shown them in the past ten years," HDZ main

He said a working meeting would be initiated at the session to draft
an election programme and a proposal for the organisation of the
electoral headquarters, which will be adopted at the HDZ Main
Committee session in September.
Saturday's session of the Main Committee and all bodies of the HDZ
will include a ceremony to mark the tenth anniversary of the
establishment of the HDZ.
Following the addressed of some 20 senior state and party
officials, the participants of the session will discuss the most
important issues facing the Croatian society and citizens.
Conclusions are expected to be adopted which will encompass all HDZ
bodies, and the final speech will be given by President Tudjman.
The session will be attended by about two or three thousand
participants -- members of the main committee, HDZ Parliament
members, members of the Government, members of the party's main
secretariat, deputies and assistants to ministers.
Attending as guests will also be representatives of Opposition
parties, foreign parties whose programmes are similar to those of
the HDZ such as Germany's CDU and CSU, Hungary's Fides, Macedonian
VMRO and others.
Present will also be numerous ambassadors accredited in Croatia,
Krpina said.
