ZAGREB, May 28 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa sent the Montenegrin President Mile Djukanovic a request asking him to intercede for Croatian journalist Antun Masle, who is in prison in Podgorica, the Government's Public
and Media Relations Office reported on Friday. In his letter, Matesa recalls that the charge of espionage was unjustified because Masle used in his articles information already published in the Montenegrin press, the statement said. Matesa reminded that the Croatian Association of Journalists (HND) had organised a petition demanding the release of Masle, which to date had been signed by over ten thousand citizens. The Yugoslav Embassy in Zagreb, however, rejected to receive a HND delegation.
