According to the latest data, there were 407,000 employees in April, however, 66,000 of them were lays-off because their factories had been destroyed in the war and will not be able to employ them again. In the same month, the Federation exported goods worth US$28
million or 14 per cent more than in the same period in 1998, and
imported goods worth almost US$130 million. The Bureau for
Statistics confirmed that Croatia is still Bosnia's most important
foreign trade partner.
In March this year, goods worth US$38 million were exported from
Croatia to the Federation, while exports from the Federation to
Croatia amounted to US$9.197 million.
