HDZ'S SEKS COMMENTS ON TALKS WITH OPPOSITION SIX

ZAGREB, (Hina) - The Croatian Democratic Union's (HDZ) chief negotiator Vladimir Seks on Wednesday said that he did not see any reason why the instigation of criminal proceedings against anyone should influence political talks between the HDZ and the opposition six regarding the election law. It appears as if they are searching for an excuse to abandon the agreement already reached, Seks said in response to the opposition six's decision to discontinue negotiations with the HDZ unless they be given appropriate details regarding the arrest of former justice minister and the principle of Croatia's secret service (HIS), Miroslav Separovic. At the Croatian Sabor on Wednesday, Seks stated that he was not authorised, politically or legally to question why the police, investigative judge and court has instigated proceedings against any person. HDZ's chief negotiator said that at 6 pm he would be at the place agreed for the meeting with the six opposition parliamentary parties - Croatian Democratic Party, Croatian Peasants' Party, Croatian Social Liberal Party, Istrian Democratic Forum, Liberal Party and Croatian Peoples' Party.
