ZAGREB, June 3 (Hina) - Waste disposal and the emergence of wild waste dumps regardless of the well founded regulations to prevent such occurrences, are the biggest worry faced by the State Administration for the Protection of the
Environment in its efforts to overcome ecological difficulties in Croatia. This was an evaluation made by the principle of the state's environment protection administration, Ante Kutle on the eve of June 5 - World Environment Protection Day. Kutle emphasised that last year, the administration had significantly increased its activities which was assisted by support from the Croatian State Sabor. On the occasion of World Environment Protection Day, awards will be granted in Crikvenica between June 11 and 13 in recognition of achievements in environment protection. Of 77 contestants from nine fields of environment protection, a shortlist of 22 is competing in eight fields. There

On the occasion of World Environment Protection Day, awards will be

Of 77 contestants from nine fields of environment protection, a
shortlist of 22 is competing in eight fields. There is not one
applicant from the forestry and agricultural sectors.
"The city reef for protection of the environment will go to Bjelovar
and Sisak", Kutle said.
A round table will also be held in Crikvenica about heath and the
environment.
Apart from waste disposal, which according to Kutle, is the
responsibility of local administration, disposal and recycling of
car tyres, batteries, oil and medicines is currently most
concerning.
