ZAGREB, June 2 (Hina) - Mount Velebit, located on the northern Adriatic coast, has been chosen, along with nine other Mediterranean woodland areas, for a nature protection project "Hot Spot", the Croatian movement of nature friends
"Lijepa nasa" reported on Wednesday. The "Hot Spot" project of protection and preservation of rare and sensitive Mediterranean flora and fauna is conducted by the World Wide Fund. The project will be presented in Rome on June 3. After that, monthly presentations of individual regions believed to be of extreme importance for the preservation of Mediterranean flora and fauna (Top Hot Spot) will be held. Velebit will be presented in August, and in the same month it will be presented on its own web page.
