ZAGREB, May 20 (Hina) - Croatia's state administration for the protection of nature and the environment on Thursday organised a two-day conference in Zagreb at which a Croatian national environment protection strategy is to be
drafted. The conference, organised in cooperation with the World Bank, is called Croatia's National Environment Protection Strategy, and gathers experts in law, agriculture, industry, tourism, transport, the power industry, and the health sector employed with ministries, state bodies and agencies, as well as World Bank experts. Divided into working groups, they will establish the goals and contents of an integral environment protection strategy which should be completed by the end of 2000. two-day conference in Zagreb at which a Croatian national
environment protection strategy is to be drafted.
The conference, organised in cooperation with the World Bank, is
called Croatia's National Environment Protection Strategy, and
gathers experts in law, agriculture, industry, tourism, transport,
the power industry, and the health sector employed with ministries,
state bodies and agencies, as well as World Bank experts.
Divided into working groups, they will establish the goals and
contents of an integral environment protection strategy which
should be completed by the end of 2000.
The World Bank is currently participating with loans and non-
repayable assistance in 15 projects aimed at the restoration and
development of the economic infrastructure. Recently, US$276,490
of non-repayable assistance has been granted for improving
environment management and protection.
