OSIJEK, May 26 (Hina) - Croatian Reconstruction and Development Minister Jure Radic on Wednesday presented Homeland War victims in Osijek with keys to 50 newly built flats. Some US$2.2 million from the state budget were earmarked for
the building of the flats, while the necessary infrastructure had been ensured by Osijek town authorities. By building new flats Croatia is repaying its war victims for their contribution to freedom, Radic said presenting the keys. He added an additional 380 flats were currently being built in Osijek-Baranja County. Most will be completed this year. "Despite the economic difficulties we are facing, the government continues to see care for war victims as one of its priorities," Radic said. More than 300 flats will allocated only in May and some 8,000 need to be built for war victims in the next five or six years, the minister added. (hina) ha
