PULA, May 14 (Hina) - A seriously injured man, who fell down n inaccessible cliff on Mount Ucka (150 kilometres south-west of Zagreb) on Thursday night was saved this morning thanks to great efforts of Croatia's special police. At
about 07.00 pm Thursday Jerko Abramovic, aged 27, along with other three people who were on Ucka, decided to tour a cave on the 100-hundred-metre high Sebrn crag when he slipped and plunged down. Luckily a branch stopped the man falling 45 metres down the crag. Afterwards Abramovic managed to move to the nearby plateau although he had sustained serious injuries during the fall, the police reported. All the night policemen of Pazin, firefighters and rescue workers tried to save the unfortunate man, but they did not manage due to the inaccessibility of the area. brought him on their hands to an accessible spot at about 06.00 am
Friday and he was taken to the Susak hospital near Rijeka by
ambulance, the Istrian police told a news conference today.
