VINKOVCI VINKOVCI, May 2 (Hina) - The eighth anniversary of the demise of 12 police officers, members of the Vinkovci special police, was marked in this eastern Croatian town. The eight officers were killed in Borovo Selo while on
duty on May 2 1991. They were ambushed and killed by Serb paramilitary troops. From April 23, the Memorial for the 12 police officers has been taking place in Vinkovci during which a number of events have been prepared. On the last day of the memorial, on Sunday deputy Interior Minister Zlatko Gledec, officials of the Vukovar-Srijem County police, Vinkovci town officials and representatives of homeland war veterans laid wreaths at the Vinkovci Town Cemetery at the central cross.
