CROATIAN AND GERMAN REPS DISCUSS ECONOMIC COOPERATION

ZAGREB, May 11 (Hina) - Croatia's Deputy Economy Minister, Jasna Boric, on Tuesday held talks with North Rhine-Westphalia Minister of Economy, Transport and Technology, Peer Streinbrueck, on the economic cooperation and the development of the utilities. At the Zagreb talks Boric informed a German delegation, led by this Minister, of the current economic situation in Croatia and its efforts to be included soon in Euro-Atlantic integration processes, read a statement released by Croatia's Economy Ministry. A Croatian-German business meeting is under way on the development of utilities, in line with a 1998 Memorandum on Economic Cooperation signed between Croatia and North Rhine-Westphalia. He added that the work had begun on models of financing projects in infrastructure and public utilities in which businessmen of both countries would find their interest. An expert German-Croatian working group has chosen about ten projects out of fifty proposed ones, which have the best prospects of implementation.
