police on Monday told reporters Slovene citizens O.K., aged 33, L.N., aged 27, Z.B., aged 22, and B.B., aged 37, took the 12 Albanians, nine adults and three children, in front of Turist Hotel in Varazdin, a town in northern Croatia, around 9am, and drove them in four cars towards the border with Slovenia, in an attempt to illegally take them across the border. The Albanians are mainly people with relatives in Slovenia, the police said, adding they are currently settled at a Croatian shelter for foreign citizens in Jezevo near Zagreb.
