Kukes and are living under extremely difficult humanitarian and sanitary conditions. About 60,000 of the refugees sleep in the open. A large number of Kosovar Albanians are refusing to move towards the mainland Albania, because they wish to remain close to Kosovo to be able to return to their homes, conditions permitting. A large wave of Kosovar refugees arrived to the northern Albanian town of Skadar during the past 24 hours. At least 3,000 refugees arrived to the town on Tuesday, and currently Skadar is accommodating about 24,000 Kosovar refugees.
