US DELEGATION VISITS GUARD CENTRE NEAR ZADAR

SEPURINE, May 5 (Hina) - A US delegation, headed by Ambassador William Montgomery, on Wednesday visited the Guard Centre for specialist training of non-commissioned officers "Damir Tomljanovic Gavran" at the Sepurine barracks near Zadar. Members of the centre presented military exercises used during specialist training. The six-member delegation also included US military attache Lieutenant Colonel John Adams. The delegation was welcomed by the commander of the Guard Centre, Werner Ilic. The visit started with the multimedia presentation of the centre and the presentation of the Croatian Ground Troops Academy, after which the guests also saw a documentary "High School of Courage" by Vinko Bresan, filmed in Sepurine in 1995. The guests were then shown special military exercises by members of the Guard Centre. Among other things, they presented the exercises of discovering and disabling snipers, saving soldiers from sea with helicopters, and other exercises, demonstrating a high level of readiness. The US delegation said they were extremely satisfied with what they had seen. After the visit to the Sepurine Guard Centre, the US delegation visited the Kornati archipelago. (hina) rml
