WASHINGTON, April 29 (Hina) - The situation in the southeast of
Europe, especially concerning Kosovo, and further development of
bilateral military cooperation, were the focus of talks held in the
past few days between Croatian Deputy Defence Minister Kresimir
Cosic and American officials.
During all the meetings, it could be felt that the US officials, be

Cosic told Croatian reporters on Thursday.
He attended the international conference on NATO and southeast
Europe which took place in Washington on the occasion of NATO's 50th
anniversary.
Cosic held talks with State Department special envoy for issues of
military stabilisation of southeast Europe, James Pardew, and
assistant US defence secretary for issues of international
security, Franklin Kramer.
The talks focused on the continuation of cooperation in line with an
agreement between Croatia and the United States dating November
1994, especially regarding the strengthening of cooperation with
the American European command.
Cosic announced Croatian Defence Minister Pavao Miljavac would
arrive to Washington soon, which will be an opportunity for a
continuation of talks and deepening of cooperation.
Croatia will, after it has been included in the group of countries
to be able to buy arms, in line with the US President's decision,
forward a request to purchase the "Janus" simulation programme for
the Croatian Army chief headquarters for the training of officers.
Cosic also visited the national defence academy and the institute
for strategic studies.
