ZAGREB, Apr 23 (Hina) - Employees of Croatia's largest circulation daily paper, Vecernji List, on Friday sent an open letter to the employees of Croatia's largest press distributor, Tisak, requesting the latter, currently on strike,
to "not prevent us in our work and endeavour to reach the readers who are entitled to their paper." Vecernji List employees said they understood the reasons behind the strike and the difficult situation brought on by unpaid salaries and high indebtedness. They pointed out however they could not let Tisak employees direct their anger at Vecernji List, i.e. bring into question the existence of the daily's employees by blocking sales on the alternative market. The letter stressed Vecernji List was not indebted to Tisak, but the other way round.(hina) ha jn
