PULA, Mar 29 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian Board of Tourism (HTZ), Marijan Bulat, on Monday said in Zagreb Croatia was a peaceful and safe tourist destination. Croatia is both politically and militarily outside the NATO-Yugoslavia
conflict, Bulat told the opening of a two-day HTZ convention on preparations for the upcoming tourist season. He emphasised no tourist had been in danger in Croatia even during the Homeland War. Bulat pointed out however the Kosovo crisis could negatively affect Croatia's tourism as, he said, Croatia was still often linked to Yugoslavia. The possible consequences on the upcoming season, into which Croatia and its economy have invested enormously, could according to Bulat be alleviated via a series of strategic intervention and promotional measures. PULA, Mar 29 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian Board of Tourism
(HTZ), Marijan Bulat, on Monday said in Zagreb Croatia was a
peaceful and safe tourist destination.
Croatia is both politically and militarily outside the NATO-
Yugoslavia conflict, Bulat told the opening of a two-day HTZ
convention on preparations for the upcoming tourist season.
He emphasised no tourist had been in danger in Croatia even during
the Homeland War.
Bulat pointed out however the Kosovo crisis could negatively affect
Croatia's tourism as, he said, Croatia was still often linked to
Yugoslavia.
The possible consequences on the upcoming season, into which
Croatia and its economy have invested enormously, could according
to Bulat be alleviated via a series of strategic intervention and
promotional measures.
Unlike competing tourist countries which as NATO members are
included in strikes against Yugoslavia, Croatia is a peaceful
tourist destination, Bulat said.
"Croatia should also use the chance at this crisis moment through
more stimulating prices which would attract foreign tourists," he
concluded.
