ZAGREB, Apr 23 (Hina) - A Croatian women's rights group on Friday
expressed its revolt at the mass rapes of Albanian women in Kosovo,
and demanded that all those who committed or incited mass rapes be
brought before The Hague-based International Criminal Tribunal for
the Former Yugoslavia.
The B.a.B.e. group, whose name is an acronym for "Be Active, Be
Emancipated", urged all countries involved in the war conflicts on
the territory of the former Yugoslav federation to extradite the
suspects to The Hague tribunal, and to be thorough and accurate in
informing the public about the trials.
The trials should be financed by the international community, the
group believes, adding also needed was cooperation between The
Hague tribunal and non-government organisations working with women
who are victims of war violence.
The B.a.B.e. warned that "women's suffering is being used for
political goals, with no desire to expose the violence."
