The reasons for the adoption of a law on the Register of Companies is the organisation, compiling, and up-dating of a central administrative register of companies, which would consist of the most important data on registered business subjects. While drawing up the bill, experts carefully studied the regulations of the European Union on the compiling of registers of companies for the needs of statistics at the EU. ZAGREB, April 22 (Hina) - The Croatian Government on Thursday
adopted bills on national classification and a register of
companies, which are to simplify and enable more efficient
collection of data on business subjects.
The Government also adopted several reports, including a report on
the activities of the Croatian Guarantee Agency (HGA) in 1998.
The reasons for the adoption of a law on the Register of Companies is
the organisation, compiling, and up-dating of a central
administrative register of companies, which would consist of the
most important data on registered business subjects.
While drawing up the bill, experts carefully studied the
regulations of the European Union on the compiling of registers of
companies for the needs of statistics at the EU.
It was also announced at today's session that a register of citizens
would be organised in two years.
Presenting the report on the activities of the HGA in 1998, the HGA
director Zdravko Muraj said the agency had granted a total of 1,583
guarantees amounting to US$34.86 million in the period between the
beginning of its operation and the end of last year. The guarantees
granted last year enabled the creation of 1,039 jobs.
Most of the granted guarantees related to the reconstruction
programme, and assistance to farmers and craftsmen.
The Government also adopted a decision approving the HGA's taking
over an additional guarantee amounting to US$28.6 million, which
means that the Agency's overall guarantee potential now amounts to
US$71.4 million.
Premier Matesa warned ministers of their obligation to answer all
questions by MPs in writing in ten days.
At the beginning of today's session, Matesa welcomed the new
ministers of tourism and justice, Ivan Herak and Zvonimir
Separovic.
