HR-CLINTON BRIEF NEWS BULLETIN IN ENGLISH NO. 3229 HINA ZAGREB, APRIL 10 CLINTON: CROATIA ELIGIBLE FOR DIRECT PURCHASE OF ARMS WASHINGTON, April 10 (Hina) - Croatia has been included in countries eligible to purchase directly U.S. arms and military equipment since Friday by a decision of U.S. President Bill Clinton. President Clinton's decision 99-21 is dated April 8, 1999, and was officially announced on Friday. In the decision Clinton notified the Secretary of State Madeleine Albright that the former restrictions upon the export of arms and military equipment into Croatia would be applied no longer. Croatia is eligible to be provided with military equipment and to receive military services in conformity with the law on foreign assistance and the law on control of arms exports, read the decision.
