WASHINGTON, April 10 (Hina) - Croatia has been included in countries eligible to purchase directly U.S. arms and military equipment since Friday under a decision of U.S. President Bill Clinton. President Clinton's decision 99-21 has
the date of 8 April, 1999, and was officially announced on Friday. In the decision Clinton notified the Secretary of State Madeleine Albright that the former restrictions upon the export of arms and military equipment into Croatia would be applied no longer. Croatia is eligible to be provided with military equipment and to receive military services in conformity with the law on foreign assistance and the law on control of arms export, read the decision. I conclude that thereby the security of the United States is strengthened and peace is promoted in the world, Clinton wrote.
