WASHINGTON, April 5 (Hina) - The situation in Macedonia is
exceptionally difficult due to the inflow of a great number of
Kosovo refugees, the Ambassador of the United States to Skopje,
Christopher Hill, said on Sunday.
According to him, Macedonian authorities can not cope with the
situation on their own, but they need the help of the entire
international community.
U.S. diplomat explained that it would not be enough to offer the aid
at the moment but other countries should also provide accommodation
for refugees as long as they cannot return to their homes.
The Belgrade regime is forcibly expelling thousands of people. We
incorrectly call them refugees, since they are in fact deportees,
Hill added.
The Belgrade regime, led by Slobodan Milosevic should be aware that
they could not continue changing forcibly the ethnic composition
(of the population) in the Balkans with impunity, Hill warned
adding that he could not have imagined such plight to which Kosovo
Albanians are now being exposed.
