ZAGREB, March 26 (Hina) - The health system ended the last year with US$793 million of debt to health institutions and providers. The situation in which, taking into consideration the influx of funds, it is impossible to cover
expenses is being transferred into this year, the Croatian Institute for Health Insurance (HZZO) Management Board members said at Friday's session. Health Minister Zeljko Reiner and HZZO director Branko Malenica informed board members that further decrease in revenues in the health system had been registered in the first two months of this year, and that the rehabilitation of the fund was necessary, as there is no real money in the system, despite the strict control of expenses and measures undertaken in the payment of duties.
