ZAGREB, Feb 26 (Hina) - Two former members of the Croatian Social-Liberal Party (HSLS) have accused party president Drazen Budisa of having fabricated a plan aimed at destabilising the HSLS, known under the name "Fox", with the
purpose of shifting responsibility for his failures in governing the party. Ivan Bozicevic, today a member of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), and Miroslav Rozic, one of the leaders of the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP), on Friday testified before a parliamentary commission of inquiry, which has been entrusted with establishing facts regarding the plan "Fox". ZAGREB, Feb 26 (Hina) - Two former members of the Croatian Social-
Liberal Party (HSLS) have accused party president Drazen Budisa of
having fabricated a plan aimed at destabilising the HSLS, known
under the name "Fox", with the purpose of shifting responsibility
for his failures in governing the party.
Ivan Bozicevic, today a member of the ruling Croatian Democratic
Union (HDZ), and Miroslav Rozic, one of the leaders of the Croatian
Party of Rights (HSP), on Friday testified before a parliamentary
commission of inquiry, which has been entrusted with establishing
facts regarding the plan "Fox". Bozicevic and Rozic both said they
had no connection whatsoever with the plan.
They accused HSLS president Budisa of fabricating the plan, in
order to justify himself before HSLS members for the increasing
number of members who started leaving the party four years ago.
"I have reason to believe that the masterminds behind the plan in
question are those who in 1995 presented the plan to the public -
Budisa, Vilfan, Kovacevic, and Granic", said Bozicevic. "It is they
who dubbed it "Fox", he added.
Proposing the establishment of a commission of inquiry, Budisa
wanted to make public his idea that, through secret services, the
HDZ was governing not only the state and the state television, but
also the political scene, by manipulating events and processes in
Opposition parties, Rozic sad.
To support his idea with alleged evidence, Budisa "dragged out into
the daylight, after four years, the fabricated "Fox" plan, which he
himself had made known in 1995", Rozic added.
