ZAGREB, Feb 19 (Hina) - The Croatian Railways Management on Friday confirmed the Croatian Railways workers' salaries for January 1999 would be paid on February 22, as it had been previously announced. Given that local public
transportation bonuses had been paid on February 19, and that the payment of salaries has only been delayed several days late, the Croatian Railways Management believes there were no legitimate reasons for a protest. The Croatian Railways once more made an appeal to all Croatian Railways employees, particularly to organisers of a protest staged on Thursday - the Croatian Engine Drivers' Union and the Croatian Railways Infrastructure Workers' Union - to discontinue all activities harming the reputation of the Croatian Railways among passengers.(hina) it jn/lml
