CROATIAN GOVT PROPOSES RAMUSCAK FOR SUPREME COURT PRESIDENT

ZAGREB, Feb 18 (Hina) - The Croatian Government on Thursday decided to propose to the Croatian Judicial Council (DSV) to appoint former Justice Minister Marijan Ramuscak to the duty of the Croatian Supreme Court President. Croatian Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa described Ramuscak as one of the best ministers in his government, adding the former Judicial Minister was a great expert in fields of local government and self-government. It was difficult for me to reach a decision on releasing Ramuscak of his duties, Matesa said. Considering, however, the importance of a person performing duties of the Supreme Court President, and the task given in the Croatian President's report on the state of the nation, Ramuscak's appointment to the Supreme Court President overcomes interests of the Croatian Government, Matesa concluded.(hina) it/mm
