on Tuesday after meeting his Slovak counterpart Eduard Kukan in Bratislava. Granic pointed out Croatia "doesn't want to be tied to countries in south-east Europe in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration." Talks with Kukan tackled the advancement of bilateral relations in all fields, he said. Negotiations on free trade between Croatia and Slovakia are continuing, Granic said, adding an agreement on Croatia's access to the Central Free Trade Association will be signed upon Croatia's access to the World Trade Organisation. Croatia's clearing debt to Slovakia amounts to US$1.5 million.
Croatia intends to offer to Slovakia the lease of a tourist object
owned by Croatia for a definite period of time.
According to Slovakia's Kukan, military cooperation will resume
during the Slovak Defence Minister's visit to Croatia.
Cultural cooperation has been concretised on Tuesday through an
agreement on the equivalence of documents on education completed in
Croatia and Slovakia.
Both ministers expressed hope cultural cooperation would
continue.
They also spoke about the major crisis points in Europe. Granic
stressed Croatia "fully supports the efforts of the contact group"
with regard to the south Yugoslav province of Kosovo.
