ZAGREB, Feb 3 (Hina) - In 1998, 5.4 million tourists visited Croatia which is 4.4 percent more that in 1997. They realised 5.4 million accommodations, 3.2 percent more than in the previous year, said the National Bureau for
Statistics, analysed by the Croatian Tourism Ministry. From the total number, 4.1 million were foreign tourists, which is 7.2 percent more than in 1997. Foreigners realised 26 million of accommodations, which is 5.3 percent more than in 1997. In 1998, tourist trade from most significant traditional markets was increased - from Germany 9.8 percent, Italy 10.3 percent, Slovenia 8.1 percent, Great Britain 29.6 percent, and the Netherlands 13.9 percent. Tourist business from the 'new' markets was also on the increase, Poland for 28 percent, and Bosnia-Herzegovina for 29.1 percent.
