Croatian Finance Minister Borislav Skegro informed members of the
Government on Thursday that his ministry had signed two agreements
with the Kartner Landes und Hypothekenbank on financing projects
for further reconstruction of Slavonia and projects for developing
tourism. The loans are worth 9.5 billion Austrian shillings.
According to Skegro, the loan for reconstruction in Slavonia will
amount to six billion Austrian shillings during several years. The
period of payment will be 12 years with a two year grace period and a
favourable interest rate.
The loan is a tied credit, so the Austrian partners will request
projects in which they can sell products of Austrian companies,
such as equipment, technology and the like.
The other agreement concerns 3.5 billion shillings which the bank
is prepared to grant for financing projects of further development
of Croatian tourism, under almost identical conditions.
