KRIZEVCI, Dec 28 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament Speaker Zlatko Tomcic on Thursday opened the world's first biblical Garden of Peace on Mt Kalnik near Krizevci, north-east of Zagreb. This unique park includes 33 wooden statues
representing characters from the Old and New Testaments with Jesus Christ as the central figure and three Croatian saints - Nikola Tavelic, Leopold Mandic and Marko Krizevcanin. The statues were made by Croatian naive artists at the proposal of humanist Milorad Kovacevic and on the occasion of the Great Jubilee of the 2000th anniversary of Christ's birth. Today's ceremony was attended by numerous state officials and church dignitaries, representatives of the Catholic church and other religious communities as well as locals.(hina) rml
