PULA AIRPORT FOR JOINT US-CRO EXERCISE PULA, Nov 25 (Hina) - Seven US Navy Sixth Fleet F-18 jets from the aircraft carrier "George Washington" landed at Pula airport on Saturday. Two more F-14 jets are expected to land at the airport
on Sunday or Monday, it was said at a news conference on Saturday. The purpose of the visit is a joint exercise of the Croatian and US air forces, called "Safe Skies", to take place between November 27 and December 1. Although test flights began yesterday, the official start of the exercise is scheduled for Monday. Croatian and US pilots will be practising flights over land, small-altitude flights and day and night flights. Croatian pilots will be flying US jets and US pilots will be flying Croatian MIGs. The exercise includes about 20 Croatian and US jets, which will be flying over the northern Adriatic and Kvarner and Gorski Kotar regions.(hina) rml
