SLUNJ 200' ENDS SLUNJ, Nov 23 (Hina) - A ten-day military exercise of US Sixth Fleet marines and members of the Croatian Army First Guard Brigade at an army range near Slunj was completed on Thursday. The US marines' commander,
Kenneth J. Glueck, who commanded the exercise, described the exercise as more than successful thanks to the support of the Croatian armed forces, which he said had demonstrated a high level of readiness. The last part of the joint exercise consisted of a two-day search for a missing pilot, supported by US helicopters and planes, stationed at Udbina and Pula airports. In the past two days, the US marines were withdrawing with their equipment from the army range near Slunj toward the port of Rijeka, where several US ships, due to sail out tomorrow, are stationed. Participating in the exercise were about 1,200 marines, 15 helicopters and six F-14 jets.(hina) rml
