ZAGREB, Nov 19 (Hina) - An international conference "Perspectives
of Relations among Bosnia-Herzegovina, Republic of Croatia and
Federal Republic of Yugoslavia" ended in Zagreb Sunday with a
jointly signed declaration calling on heads of states and
governments attending the Zagreb Summit next week to continue in
their efforts towards pacifying the region, and to stress that
those responsible for war crimes would answer individually.
"We call on the heads of states and governments of countries
gathering at the Zagreb Summit to clearly commit themselves to
continue exerting efforts on pacifying, economically stabilising
and introducing democracy not only in our three countries, but also
in countries of the region to which we belong," the final
declaration reads.
Participants of the conference also called on European officials to
"again stress there is no collective guilt ... and those
responsible for crimes committed would individually answer before
the war crimes tribunal in The Hague".
The declaration urges participants of the upcoming summit in Zagreb
to "strongly support positive social and political trends shown in
our societies in the past months," prevent "attempts of transfer of
ghosts of nationalist madness", and "strengthen the convictions of
the peoples in the region that the period of conflicts and suffering
is behind them".
The participants concluded their countries had gone through
significant democratic changes in the past year for the first time,
and committed themselves to continue contributing to the adoption
and consistent implementation of the highest modern standards of
democracy and human rights.
