ZAGREB, Nov 13 (Hina) - First Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic
promised representatives of interior ministry pensioners who
rallied in front of the government building in Zagreb on Monday the
government would urgently propose amendments to the law on pension
insurance rights of active military and authorised officials.
About 200 interior ministry pensioners today demanded talks with
Prime Minister Ivica Racan. They believe the current law deprives
them, as their pensions are smaller than those of interior ministry
pensioners who retired with fewer years of service.
Their representative Nada Jurgec told Hina Granic promised the
injustice would be corrected. Granic requested a complete list of
the pensioners who have been damaged.
These pensioners had already protested in front of the government
building, back in July, when they were promised their requests
would be examined and cleared. Nothing changed since that rally,
Jurgec said.
