POREC, Oct 28 (Hina) - The Union of Workers in Agriculture, Food and Tobacco Industries and Water Management re-elected Josip Pavic union president at a two-day congress in Porec on Saturday. The union, which is the largest workers'
association in the country, also adopted a declaration urging the government to define a strategy of economic development, reduce public spending, revise the transformation and privatisation process, and change the Labour Act. It also requested the government to establish a national fund for guaranteed salaries with the aim to secure the regular payment of salaries.(hina) rml
