ZAGREB, Oct 23 (Hina) - The Croatian school union 'Preporod' will stage a protest rally on Friday, October 27 against the government's failure to accept a proposal on harmonising the salaries of primary and secondary school teachers
at a session last Thursday, the union president Vinko Filipovic told reporters on Monday. Filipovic recalled this was the first time that an increase in coefficients (of September 1) had resulted in primary school teachers receiving higher salaries than their colleagues in secondary schools. If by October 26 the government does not meet the union's requests, protesters will gather in front of the government building, because it is only there that this problem can now be solved, Filipovic said calling on all primary and secondary school employees from Zagreb and Zagreb County, as well as Education and Sports Minister Vladimir Strugar to attend the rally.
