SABOR DELEGATION MEETS FINNISH PARLIAMENTARIANS

HELSINKI, Oct 18 (Hina) - Croatian Sabor speaker Zlatko Tomcic and Croatian deputies on Wednesday met representatives of the Finnish parliamentary Committees on Foreign Affairs and the Constitution on the last day of their official visit to Finland. The talks focused on the situation in Croatia and the region, Stability Pact, and the upcoming summit of EU and south-east European countries in Zagreb on November 24. Finnish parliamentarians stressed the importance of return of all refugees to their homes. The Croatian officials and their colleagues from the Committee on the Constitution discussed constitutional changes in Croatia. Finland adopted changes to its constitution last year. Addressing Croatian reporters, Tomcic described the visit as very successful. The Finnish delegation demonstrated great interest in and understanding for messages from Croatia. We have been assured, he said, that Finland will advocate Croatia's stand that countries aspiring to join the European Union should have the right to access it individually.
