MESIC ON CURRENT SITUATION DURING HIS VISIT TO MEDJIMURJE

CAKOVEC, Oct 13 (Hina) - Addressing councillors in the Assembly of Medjimurje County (northern Croatia), Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Friday tackled several currently very important issues in the country. In his speech Mesic pointed to the importance of stimulating the production and giving incentives to the creation of new jobs through efforts aimed at making the country open for foreign investment which can help activate Croatian resources. He stressed that strategic objectives and manners for their accomplishment should be defined. The head of state was informed of problems this northern Croatian county was faced with, and supported councillors' suggestion for the de-centralisation of budgetary means so that units of local self-government and government could get more budgetary funds.
