of the State to send into retirement seven high-ranking Croatian Army officers was too radical and was adopted without consultations with and the knowledge of the Defence Minister. Croatian President and Supreme Commander of the Croatian Armed Forces Stipe Mesic today made a decision on the cessation of active military service and retirement of seven Croatian generals who on Thursday forwarded an open letter to the Croatian public. Twelve generals, of whom five are retired and seven were active military officers until today, urged in their letter state institutions and media to oppose the negative and false presentation of the Homeland War.(hina) jn rml
