ZAGREB, Sept 5 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic's Office on Tuesday confirmed it had received a suggestion from the Defence Ministry to retire some Croatian officers, including General Milivoj Petkovic. "A certain number of
proposals has been received, including the proposal for the retirement of General Petkovic. All of this is under procedure," an aide to the head of the President's military office, Lieutenant Colonel Zvonimir Mahecic, told Hina today. The Defence Ministry stated today that within efforts aimed at re-organising the Armed Forces and cutting the number of professional servicemen and officers, it forwarded the suggestions to the President Mesic's Office this May. The name of Milivoj Petkovic was included in the list for the proposed retirements.
