ZAGREB, Sept 26 (Hina) - The Office of President Stjepan Mesic on Tuesday issued a statement reacting to repeated incorrect citing in media on a statement of President Mesic regarding the apprehensions in the central Croatian town of
Gospic. The President never said that persons arrested in Gospic were war criminals, but he particularly stressed that police and the court must do their work, and only after a final verdict is passed it will be know whether one is innocent or guilty, the statement read. "The President always stresses that those who committed crimes must be prosecuted, but we reiterate that he never said that anybody was guilty before the final verdict.
