PRESIDENT MESIC MEETS REPS OF CROATIAN, BH CONSTITUTIONAL COURTS

ZAGREB, Sept 27 (Hina) - Croatian President Stipe Mesic met delegations of the Croatian and Bosnia-Herzegovina constitutional courts in Zagreb on Wednesday. "The Constitutional Court of Bosnia-Herzegovina has expressed its gratitude to President Mesic for his support and President Mesic emphasised the importance of operation of the BH Constitutional Court," BH Constitutional Court president and delegation's head Kasim Begic said. The BH delegation, which today ends its visit to the Croatian Constitutional Court, and their Croatian colleagues discussed the operation of the Croatian Constitutional Court and agreed to continue their cooperation. "President Mesic is very satisfied with the operation of constitutional courts in countries in transition, especially of those in the region," Mesic's advisor on internal affairs Igor Dekanic said, stressing the international community had never had any objections regarding the operation of the Croatian Constitutional Court. "The Croatian Constitutional Court is a guarantee of legality in this area and President Mesic said he was very pleased that decisions passed by the BH Constitutional Court confirmed the foundations of statehood and constituent quality of all three (BH) peoples on the entire territory," he added.
