Ministry Slavko Rako said Wednesday Ivan Andabak had been
apprehended in Croatia only under suspicion of having taken part in
drug smuggling, not in connection with an ongoing investigation
about last year's murder of Bosnian Federation deputy interior
minister Jozo Leutar.
Rako commented on Tuesday's statement by UN Mission chief to
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Jacques Klein, that Andabak was a prime
suspect in Leutar's murder case.
Klein said in Sarajevo Tuesday Croatian police had arrested Andabak
and other Bosnian Croats in connection with the Leutar case, in
cooperation with the authorities of the Bosnian Federation.
The Croatian Interior Ministry said in a statement Wednesday
Andabak had been arrested under suspicion of having taken part in
organising drug smuggling.
The Ministry also said Sarajevo's Interpol office had issued an
international warrant for the arrest of Andabak for terrorism in
Bosnia-Herzegovina, but the warrant had not contained sufficient
elements for his arrest.
The Ministry had, thus, requested additional documents from the
Bosnian Federation's Interior Ministry, the statement read.
