(central Croatia) Monday. #L#
In his statements given to the press, Milan Levar spoke about
alleged crimes by Croats against Serb civilians in his home town in
1991 and claimed he was being threatened for his cooperation on the
issue with investigators of the Hague-based international war
crimes tribunal.
Lika-Senj County police issued a statement Tuesday saying they had
"never received any request for personal safety protection action
for Milan Levar".
The authorities had, however, on their own accord, undertaken
restricted security measures to protect Levar while the tribunal's
investigators were in Gospic, the statement said.
