WASHINGTON, Aug 12 (Hina) - Croatia's capital Zagreb will be one of some 30 world cities to be granted collateral by United States' Ex-Im Bank for the purchase of U.S. product such as medical equipment, construction machinery,
information technology, and products used in the protection and preservation of the environment. In Friday's statement, the U.S. bank said it would guarantee loans to city and local authorities in countries undergoing transition which qualify for the loans. Ex-Im Bank will consider demands by local authorities regularly paying their external debt, and whose credit rating is B/B2 or higher. The collateral will help countries in transition strengthen their economies, primarily by meeting infrastructure requirements, including the use of information technology, said the statement.(hina) ha
