VUKOVAR, July 21 (Hina) - Vukovar-Srijem County, Zagrebacka Banka, and Croatia's Crafts, Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Ministry on Friday signed an agreement on business cooperation in the realisation of a crafts, small and medium
entrepreneurship stimulation programme for the County in 2000. The 35 million kuna (US$4.22 million) agreement envisages ensuring money and granting loans for small and medium entrepreneurs from Vukovar-Srijem County, which suffered the most devastation in the early 1990s war, in purchasing, building, equipping, expanding and modernising buildings and land. Loans will be granted for a period of up to seven years, with a 24-month grace period and an eight percent interest rate, with the possibility that the County based on its decision subsidise part of the interest rate to the loan user. prefect Petar Cobankovic, and the director of the business network
sector at Zagrebacka Banka, Tea Martincic.
Minister Pecek said the agreement represented the realisation of a
government programme aimed at ranking the development of small and
medium entrepreneurship as potentially the most vital sections of
national economy.
