ZAGREB, July 31 (Hina) - Croatian President Stipe Mesic and the Government's Commissioner for Donji Lapac, Dragan Milanovic, met on Monday to discuss problems in this town located near the border with Bosnia-Herzegovina. Although it
is an area of special state concern, Donji Lapac was intentionally neglected and all plans to start reconstruction there were being thwarted, Milanovic told reporters after the meeting. Milanovic said the former authorities were to be blamed for the situation in the town, which before the war had the largest number of employed persons in relation to the number of residents. Today, about 3,000 persons live in Donji Lapac and only 80 of them have a job, he said.
