RIJEKA PORT RIJEKA, July 28 (Hina) - The US destroyer Mahan, which is part of the most modern class of navy ships in the US fleet, on Friday entered the port of Rijeka, where it will stay until August 1. Citizens will be able to visit
the ship on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The USS Mahan, which has its basis in Norfolk, Virginia, is deployed in the Mediterranean as part of the combat group of the Sixth Fleet's Eisenhower aircraft carrier. It is equipped with multipurpose systems, including Tomahawk guided missiles for attacks on the land, Harpoon anti-vessel projectiles, the anti-aircraft system Standard, a modern anti-submarine system, and a command-alert system. The ship, which is 154 metres long and 20.5 metres wide, has a crew of 340. This is the second time the USS Mahan is visiting Croatia. In May this year it visited the port of Split.
