ZAGREB, July 27 (Hina) - The guided missile destroyer USS Mahan will visit the biggest Croatian seaport of Rijeka from 28 July to 1 August. The USS Mahan (DDG-72) will be the first U.S. destroyer, as well as the first U.S. ship with
an embarked command staff to visit Rijeka, read a statement issued by the US. Embassy in Zagreb on Thursday. "The Mahan, which is home-ported in Norfolk, Virginia, is deployed to the Mediterranean as a member of the Eisenhower Carrier Battle Group under the U.S. Sixth Fleet," read the statement. "The Mahan, a member of the Arleigh Burke class, is equipped with a multifunctional array of systems, which includes the "Tomahawk" land attack missile system, the "Harpoon" anti-ship missile, the "Standard" air defense missile system, an advanced anti-submarine warfare suite and the "AEGIS" weapons control system," it added. the first U.S. ship with an embarked command staff to visit Rijeka,

The Mahan is scheduled to tie up in Rijeka on Friday, and will be
open for visits by the general public from 04.00 to 07.00 pm on
Saturday and Sunday.
This is the Mahan's second visit to Croatia, after it visited Split
in April.
