who recently visited Croatia with a group of US congressmen. In an interview with Voice of America, this US congressman of Croat descent said he would personally see that Croatian projects received permanent assistance from the United States, whether they concerned the return of refugees or economic problems. Voinovich believes Croatia has inherited a heavy burden of economic recession, poor privatisation and huge debts.
